Recently the court has ordered to take vigil on school buses to avoid accidents and technical faults. Along with the court order the transport department is actively working for the same and the regional transport officials have been directed to recheck the buses during the summer holidays.
However, the faulty and illegal buses are continuing to function in the same way and it was cleared during the special drive taken by the RTO in the city from November 25.And 30 school buses were found faulty while 16 illegal vehicles were observed transporting the school children. As per information, the RTO has grounded 13 vehicles while RTO recovered fine of Rs.62950.RTO has started rechecking drive from November 25 till December 10 for two wheelers,autos,vans and buses transporting students.
As per information, it is mandatory to wear the helmets for the two wheeler riders. It is also directed that strict action will be taken if found transporting more students than the available sitting arrangements.
