The Supreme Court of India on December 12 has setup a three member inquiry commission in order to investigate the Encounter of four, rape and Murder suspects of a veterinary doctor.
The commission will be headed by a retired Supreme Court judge Justice Vikas Shridhar Sripurkar along with former Bombay High Court judge Rekha Baldota and former CBI Chief B Kartikeyan.
The Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde was hearing two public interest litigation seeking an independent probe into the deaths of the four accused in the Hyderabad veterinarian gang-rape and murder case last week.On December 6 all the four accused Mohammed Areef, Jollu Shiva, Jollu Naveen and Chennakeshavulu who were accused of raping and murdering a veterinary doctor from Hyderabad, were gunned down by police allegedly during crime reconstruction and witness collection.
Cyberabad police commissioner VC Sajjanar claimed that the accused snatched their pistols and fired at them, leaving no option but to retaliate with weapons.
The Supreme Court has said “that the inquiry commission has six months to complete their investigation and no other court or authority will investigate the case until further ordersâ€.
