Recently in a shocking incident two people have lost their lives after a porch collapse at the dermatology and venereology department in TB ward of GMCH.After the shocking incident, the deceased received cheques of Rs.2 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
As per information, the police have registered an offence of causing death due to negligence under section 304(A) of the IPC in the case. The police have stated that they have to scan through the documents of the building construction to fix responsibility. The records would have to be checked, whether it was Public Works Department (PWD) or any sub-contractor or any other agency.
The deceased Devnath Bagde (66) and Vanita Waghmare (36) were killed after being trapped under the debris of the slab which collapsed outside ward number 41 on Thursday.
As per information, the family of Waghmare,a widow with two children would additionally get some monetary assistance through ‘Sharmajivi Kutumbh Kalyan Yojana’.Waghmare was raising the children by working at a private firm after her husband’s death.
District collector Ravindra Thakare,who has immediately sent the proposal for compensation through the CM’s relief fund confirmed the cheques were handed over to the families by the tehsildar.
