It has been reported that the shop owners who have been affected by the demolition works under the Ganesh Tekdi flyover have now rejected to take shops against their demolished shops. As per information, a delegation of the project affected traders called on Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday and demanded that the authority should pay them compensation as per rules.
The demolition of Ganesh Tekdi flyover is proposed and after the demolition the road would be widened under the Maha-Metro railway project.However, from the beginning the shop owners and NGOs have opposed the demolition of the flyover.
During the meeting, the chairman of the trader’s association Nilesh Khorgade stated that the 95 projected shop owners have demanded compensation. He further demanded that the authority should give shops to those who are willing to take another shop.
After this meeting the minister has given the assurance of compensation.
