The third edition of the biggest cultural extravaganza of Nagpur city, Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav came to a blissful end on December 15. The 17 day cultural fest gave a treat to the Nagpurians with various programs.
On the last day, the Dream Girl of Indian cinema, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Padma Shri Hema Malini presented a dance ballet ‘Maa Ganga’ explaining the emergence of Maa Ganga, the holy river on earth at Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education ground.The ballet started with a story from ‘Bhagwat Purana’ about the birth of Ganga.
The 90-minute dance drama based on the life of Ganga from her birth till date covering all four yugas was marvelously presented by Hema Malini and her team of Natyavihar Kala Kendra. The dance drama focused on four parts from one Yug to another Yug. The dance drama was choreographed by Bhushan Lakandri, music composed by Padma Shri Ravindra Jain, Asit Desai and Alaap Desai, the songs were rendered by Suresh Wadkar, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shankar Mahadevan, and Mika Singh, while the costumes were designed by Neeta Lulla, special effects were by Vibhore Khandelwal and directed by Hema Malini herself.Earlier, former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, former minister Chandrasekhar Bawankule, MLA Vikas Kumbhare, MLC Girish Vyas, MLC Anil Sole, Mayor Sandip Joshi, former MLA Dr Milind Mane, former MP Datta Meghe, former MLA Sudhakar Deshmukh and others lit the traditional lamp to mark the conclusion of Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav.
