Mukesh Sarwan, Vice President of the Maharashtra State Cleaning Staff Commission, reviewed various issues of cleaning staff on Wednesday. Representatives of various cleaning staff discussed various issues during this meeting held at Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Memorial Standing Committee House at the Municipal Headquarters.
Problems discussed during the meeting include problems of sanitation workers due to late payment. Responding to the issue, Sarwan directed the officials to pay the salaries of the workers till the seventh of every month. He also directed to recruit cleaning staff and even promote them without reviewing their cast but looking at their educational qualifications.
It is also noticed that a reserved place, which is supposed to be kept for the children of employees of sanitation department by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is being ignored completely and no such seat is vacant for them. Apart from this, a house is to be provided to the workers by the NMC, which is again neglected by the corporation citing lack of space.
To this Sarvan ordered the officers to take the necessary steps and provide a space in the coming six months and the required funds will be provided to build the houses.
In the meeting Additional Commissioner Ram Joshi, Health Officer, Pradip Dasarwar, Rajendra Anbare, , Kishore Samundre, Vinod Chavhan, Ashok Solanki, Prabhakar Ghingat. Sanjay Rajasevat, Vicki Vadhell, Ravi Beekeepers, Dilip Barwar, Somersing Duggal, Bablu Kondhave, Praful Sarawat, A Mind Sarwan, Shahrukh Pinjari, were present.
