City swimmer Yash Anil Gulhane has been selected for Khelo India games 2020, to be held at Guwahati in Assam from January 18.
He has been selected for 100 m and 50 m breast stroke events in under-17 boys section to represent Maharashtra state.
This selection is on the basis of the performance and achievements of the swimmer throughout the year in various state and national level swimming championship competitions.Yash Gulhane achieved a trail of many state and national level championships through the year and won many medals in various competitions.
He grabbed three individual silver medals and one silver medal in relay in CBSE National Level Swimming Championship 2019 held at Bhopal.
He won two gold and one silver and one bronze medal in state level swimming championship 2019 held at Nagpur organized by Maharashtra State Youth and Sports Services, Maharashtra state, Pune.In the last month at New Delhi Yash won individual bronze medal in 50m breast stroke event under-17 year boy category at 65th National School Games Swimming Championship 2019 organized by School Games Federation of India, New Dellhi.
Yash was also participated in first Khelo India 2017 competition. Yash is a student of School of Scholars, Wanadongri and studying in 11th standard and taking swimming coaching under Nitin Malwade. He also got guidance and facilities from school principal Kavita Nagrajan.
