It has been reported that the civic body of the city conducted a meeting in which they discussed the introduction of cleanliness cess to be collected from traders in city markets.
During the meeting, Adv Dharampal Meshram, who also heads Legal Committee of NMC sought information from authorities about authorised and unauthorised markets functioning in city and also the weekly markets and their locations.
 Similarly, he asked how much garbage is lifted by NMC from such markets. Meshram informed the meet about State Government’s direction about cess. The sub-committee was of view that traders should pay the cess to ensure proper cleanliness is maintained at markets. As per information, Civic officials were directed to take stock of number of business persons, hawkers and how much cess can be taken from each of them.
