It has been reported that department of Mathematics at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, would organise National Mathematics Day (NMD-2019) on December 23 to spread the message of importance of Mathematics and its application among the students.
The programme is being held in collaboration with National Council for Science and Technology Commission (NCSTC) under Department of Science and Technology of government of India and Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission of Maharashtra.
As per information, the National Mathematics Day is celebrated to acknowledge the contribution of Shrinivasa Ramanujan to the global Mathematics fraternity. The keynote speech will be delivered by former vice-chancellor of Lucknow University and SRTM University,Nanded SB Nimse.The invited speaker for the programme will be Vijay M Kare senior police inspector at Ambazari Police Station,Nagpur.And chief guest will be Dr.Anuradha Devi, Head of department of Mathematics, Royal Group of Institutions,Guwahati.And Vice-Chancellor Dr.SP Kane will unveil the portrait of the Srinivasa Ramanujan .During NMD-2019 popular talks and seminar competition for post graduate students of Mathematics will be conducted.
