As we know the cleanliness drive is getting momentum in city and the civic body has taken various measures to make the initiative a successful one with more public participation.
And in view of this, NMC has come up with a new scheme in which the residents who will collect dry and wet garbage separately and they make home compost then the residents will get 5 percent concession in property tax. As per information, it is mandatory for those housing society where more than 100kg wet garbage is collected to produce compost.Therefore,completing the necessary process and for giving advice to the societies an agency will be appointed. And the flipside of the thing is that if the societies did not set up the compost manufacturing unit will have to pay the fine.
The civic administration is also taking measures to stop residents from throwing garbage on open space. And the Nuisance Detection Squad will be monitoring the area and if they found anyone violating it they have to pay the fine. And the civic chief has decided to check the attendance muster of sanitation department employees and he warned that the employees who even after not attending duty after signing on the muster will have to face strict action.
