City swimmer Himani Phadke bagged eighth gold medal in 10th State-level Sea Swimming Competition organised by Sidhudurg Amateur Swimming Association at Chivla Beach in Malvan.
 Himani participated  in the event for the right time achieved five kilometre distance in 40.38 minutes braving high tides. As soon as she reached the spectators gave her standing ovation. She got Rs 5,000, trophy, swimming kit and certificate at the hands of guests.In the same category Smit achieved five kilometre distance in 42.11 seconds. Himani’s younger brother Daksh Phadke particiipated in one kilometre event in Under-12 section and clocked 5. 32 seconds to achieve first place. Deaf and dumb student Pranav Lade clocked 25.32 seconds in two kilometrer event and achieved third place. In Under-15 girls section, Mrudula Bankar secured fourth place in 3 km event clocking 38 minutes.
Ravindra Tarare achieved first place in 60 years category whereas in bwlow seven years section, Abhinav Gudhe secured sixth place. Yash Dhawle, Soham Shinde, Shashikant Raut, Dhananjay Chinchalkar, Aman Kawle and Shreyas Bahadure to completed their events in the stipulated timing.
