It is known that after its origin in India, Buddhism has spread its presence across the globe. Emperor Ashoka promoted Buddhist expansion by sending monks to surrounding territories to share the teachings of the Buddha. A wave of conversion began, and Buddhism spread not only through India, but also internationally.
As per information, in a move to promote Buddhism, Vietnam has decided to donate 84,000 idols of Lord Buddha to India. And interestingly, Nagpur will be receiving 111 of these idols.And these idols will be donated to organizations and individuals who are striving for the spread of the Buddhism. Vietnam’s Thu Hinai has donated these idols.
And the idols will be handed over through city’s Ahilyabai Holkar Multipurpose Education Society. And the idol donation ceremony in which 111 idols will be donated will take place at Ravi Bhavan in the city from 1.30 pm on December 30 in the presence of senior thinker bhau Lokhande.And as per source, MLA Prakash Gajbhiye, former MLA Dr.Milind Mane, regional deputy commissioner of social justice department Siddharth Gaikwad, actor Gagan Malik, Pushpa Ghodke, Veena Gaikwad, Varsha Dhargave and Nitin Gajbhiye will grace the occasion.
