The ongoing construction of Sadar flyover which was meant to be completed by December 28 has been already finished before the due date and it has been tested. The flyover is ready to use but an inauguration date is yet to be disclosed by the civic authorities.During the testing of the bridge, six trucks were made to run on the bridge continually. These trucks had a weight of approx 40 tonnes each.
The length of the bridge is 4.22 kilometre when measured from Katol Road square to LIC square. The company will be conducting another test run of the bridge before it is put in public use. The date of completion for the construction of the bridge had been changed for three times. When back in 2018 the construction was taking a pace, it was declared that the bridge will be completed by March 31, 2019, which later was changed to August. While coming to the due in the month of August the date was again extended and was finalised to be December 28.
The citizens are desperately waiting for the inauguration of bridge, as the road underneath the flyover is filled with potholes and is seen damaging the vehicles of the citizens. The below travelling vehicles and their drivers face a lot of issues as the road is not constructed properly yet and also is noticed to be full of dust which spreads from the construction material lying underneath the bridge. The construction cost of this Sadar flyover is estimated to be Rs. 217 crores.
