Ganesh Satish played a century knock ( 145, 301 b, 17×4, 1×6) of the season as Vidarbha posted a good total of 338 in their first innings on the third day of Ranji Trophy match against Punjab at VCA Jamtha Stadium on Friday.
Punjab gave an apt reply by scoring 132 without any loss at stumps. Shubhman Gill was sitting pretty on 70 in the company of another opener Sanvir Singh 56. Ganesh Satish who scored 14th first class century of his career hogged the limelight on the third day. .He faced Punjab bowlers in the company of Aditya Sarvate in overcast conditions. In the process, Ganesh Satish completed his century in 306 balls.All-rounder Saravate from other end also gave good company to his senior partner. However when Saravate was two runs short of half century Arshdeep Singh got rid of him. Thus both made 103 run partnerships for seventh wicket. Ganesh Satish’s resistance came to an end in unfortunate manner as Mayank Markande ran out him with 303 runs on board. Tailender Rajneesh Gurbani scored quickfire unbeaten 27. In reply, Punjab gave an apt reply to Vidarbha. Frustrating the Vidarbha bowlers, both the openers Sanvir Singh (56, 127b, 8×4) and young Indian player Shubman Gill (70, 114b, 8×4, 1×6).
