Good news for railway commuters as the British pattern water stands are being set up on the platforms at Nagpur Railway station for the convenience of the passengers. As per information, these new water stands will also incur less expense in maintenance as compared to the taps. And it is beautifully designed. During the British reign, similar water stands made of stone used to be fitted at railway stations.
As per information, initially 10 water stands will be installed out of which work of installing eight water stands has been completed. These water stands are made of stainless steel and cost around Rs.40000 each. As per source, 25 such water stands are needed to be installed on all platforms of Nagpur railway station and over 100 for entire Central Railway.
