Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) new plan to start ‘Khau Galli’ on the sides of the Gandhi Sagar lake right opposite to Raman Science Centre has been already put in process. With cleaning of lake and developing the area, on January 3, Mayor Sandeep Joshi visited the site to inspect the ongoing work of development of Eat Street and had a press meet.
During the meeting it was informed that the ‘Khau Galli’ which is a project of NMC will be inaugurated by the hands of Nitin Gadkari, Minister of road transport and highway of India. The date had to be shifted to January 9, due to some internal affairs and committee being unavailable.
The ‘Khau Galli’ corridor will be open for the visitors from January 16. Security guards will be also deployed on the premises.
Currently the whole area is almost ready to fit the stalls in them and even the flooring is being repaired of the location. On the other side of the lake, which is diagonally to the eat street the washrooms are also being constructed to provide service to the visitors of the Khau Galli.
Initially the corridor will have 32 stalls, after which 8 more stalls will be added.
Joshi thanked the citizens for suggesting this initiative during the press meet. He also asked the citizens present for the press meet to help the Municipal Corporation in future city planning and asked them to keep on suggesting which is helpful for the Orange City.
During the inauguration Nitin Raut along with Sunil Kedar and Anil Deshmukh will be present alongside Gadkari.
