Since the birth of mankind medical field has seen some drastic changes in the field be it in terms of technologies or in medicines or eradication of any diseases the field has always something new to offer and make the country healthy and free from diseases.
Individuals, who chose the upliftment and betterment of the society as their life’s goal, are also referred as the heroes without the cap.Dr Prakash Manwatkar and Dr Madhuri Manwatkar who are doing a yeoman service to mankind through their medical practice at Chandrapur.
Dr Madhuri Manwatkar who is MS (General Surgery), MS (ENT) and Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery, was raised in very modest environment by her father who was a teacher in Shegaon village, Warora.
Speaking about the difficult times in her earlier days Dr Madhuri shares, “I was brought up in a very small village. My father was a good teacher and was honoured with the ideal teacher award several times. We were 8 siblings. It was a very difficult and painstaking journey. We all used to do farm work after our school. Since all our money was spent on education and daily chores of lifeâ€.“I always stood first in my school days. After immense hard work, I got the much desired admission in GMC, Nagpur for my medical studies and worked in Gadchiroli District Hospital and Chandrapur Civil Hospital.†she added.
“I always wanted to make things simpler and affordable for patients. The journey was painful but very satisfying. I made special surgeries on patients with burning injuries. I was the first one to do a laparoscopy surgery in Chandrapur†Dr Madhuri Manwatkar informed.
With a mission to all medical facilities under one roof at affordable rates Dr Madhuri began her medical practice from year 2001. A needy patient need not go to Nagpur for his medical treatment – that was her aim she built her own hospital building in 2008.Just like Dr Madhuri, Dr Prakash was born in a small village and worked hard since childhood. The feeling of perfection comes after doing something over and over again persistently, without thinking how much time it is consuming and not quitting the work at hand. Dr Prakash is one such perfectionists.
Dr Prakash is a MDDA (Anaesthesiology) from GMCH Nagpur and mostly looks after critical care cases. He also started his own practice in 2001 along with Dr Madhuri. He says, “My mission is that every needy and poor patient should get medical assistance and treatment. My aim to provide best of the medical facilities and treatment in most affordable fees. We regularly organise medical camps for the poor and elderly patientsâ€.
“Hospital is the Centre of Social Service for us. We have adopted the best medical practices, facilities from the best of the hospitals. Constant updation is very important. We have installed international quality equipment in Chandrapur to offer best of the medical services to local and nearby patients. Patient satisfaction is more important than money, he added.
The dedicated duo has a 100 bedded hospital in the heart of the Chandrapur city and provides medical facilities to the patients from nearby villages. Their hospital has 4 modular operation theaters and a well-equipped 20 bedded ICU.
It also has international level dialysis centre and top-of-the line blood storage centre. Both Dr Prakash and Dr Madhuri regard their parents as their role model without whom they would not have been able to see this beautiful world. The relationship between Dr Prakash and Dr Madhuri is also that of mutual respect, trust and bonhomie. According to Madhuri, Dr Prakash is an ideal human being.
