The civic body is triggering for a new policy in which a pet lover cannot keep more than two dogs. During the first day of Janta Darbar, while interacting with the public Mayor talked about the matter and informed about the policy.
As per information, the first Janta Darbar of mayor received more than 60 complaints. The complaints mainly include cleanliness issues of the city, stray dog menace, encroachments etc.The citizens conveyed the mayor that stray dog menace has really become headache for them and they are scared to go out any time during the day. In this issue, they have filed complaints to vetenary department of civic body; however, no action has been taken yet. And mayor informed them that the civic body is preparing a policy that will restrict any pet lover not to keep more than two dogs, and this proposal will be presented before the general body meeting for the approval and it will be implemented. Bajaj Nagar residents pointed out the issue of dog excrement on pavements particularly in public grounds and parks. Also demanded to restart penalizing dog owners who fail to clean the poop of their canines.
As per information, many people do not have the licence in spite of the rule of having dog licence by paying Rs.200 per annum.Earlier the NMC used to penalize pet owners for dog excrement on pavements or roads.However,the careless attitude of the administration couldn’t implement it properly and resulted in the complete nuisance for the public.
