It has been reported that due to the hike in accidents, it has become very important for two wheelers to wear helmets. And in a press meet on Thursday, District Superintendent of Police Amogh Gaonkar said that wearing helmets will be made compulsory in the Akola city.
He stated that the percentage of accidents of two wheeler was very high in Akola city last year. To minimise and control the number of two-wheeler accidents happening in the city, the Police administration will soon make wearing helmets compulsory in the city.
Gaonkar informed that out of 156 road accidents of various vehicles that took place in 2019, 44 were accidents of two-wheelers which could have been avoided. He also stressed that traffic rules must be followed. Strict warnings and implementation of rules and regulations are necessary steps to ensure road safety. He added.
