Recently the high court has banned the use of small plastic or paper flags. And after the directive of court, the district collector Ravindra Thakre has asked the public to evade the use of plastic or paper flags on Republic Day.
This is in true sense a move to prevent immense disrespect to the national flag, because on the occasion of national holidays like Independence Day, Republic Day people attend different events and they carry plastic or paper flags in large quantity. After the event over they are thrown away in careless manner. Then people also step onto these flags lying on the ground which certainly an utter disrespect to the national flag.
In view of this, ahead of Republic Day the administration has also imposed a ban on the manufacture, distribution and sale of such flags. And if anyone found violating the rules they have to face a strict action. And the administration has also appealed the citizens to collect the abandoned flags and hand over it to either district collectorate or tehsil offices for the proper disposal of it.
