The new rule to keep garbage bins in front of every shop, ferry, hawker stalls, and even hand carts seems to be a good move by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) as a sudden change can be noticed regarding cleanliness in the city.
The shopkeepers have also happily welcomed this new rule and have started to keep the disposals in front of the shops or in their nearby area.
In a recent meeting, the Health Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation had issued a directive on the orders of Mayor Sandeep Joshi and Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe. Since then the city sanitation rules have been strictly enforced.
As per the direction by NMC Commissioner the shops which are seen without garbage bins, will be imposed of heavy fines. It is also being mentioned that unhygienic premises will be fined if there is any sort of garbage seen littering under 10 square feet area of the shops. The rule has been implemented from January 26.
NMC urged all the shopkeepers, hawkers and contractors in the city to keep the litter boxes immediately and contribute to clean and beautify the city.
