Right after the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) carried out its anti-encroachment drive in all the zones of Nagpur City, on February 1 and 2, the shopkeepers and vendors of Mangalwari Bazaar raided the NMC office and took away the seized goods.
In the afternoon, on Sunday a group of vegetable and fruit vendors supported by a huge crowd raided the NMC Managalwari Zone office.
According to one of the NMC officials, the crowd had more than 100 people who raided the office. As the office was closed, only the guard was present during this incident. There were around 16 hand carts that were seized and kept inside the NMC office, all of which were taken by the crowd.
NMC visited the market today on Monday, in the afternoon and found no one present or no vendors doing business on the suspected grounds.
