The Reach-III of Nagpur Metro, Lokmanya Nagar to Sitabuldi Interchange stretch got a good start. As per information, within three days of operation the cash collection of Reach-III of Nagpur Metro, has crossed Rs 50,000 mark.
This in sharp contrast to Orange Line on Reach-I,Khapri to Sitabuldi Interchange, where ridership has still not picked-up as yet.
On Reach-III, also called Aqua Line, on first day that is January 28 about 1659 riders travelled on Maazi Metro leading to earnings of Rs 27,492.
On second day travellers number crossed 3,000,3020 to be exact people travelled and revenue was Rs 50,340.
On January 31 about 3,117 travellers paid Rs 54,570 for travelling by Nagpur Metro. However, February 2, the first Sunday of month, recorded highest rider of a single day, it was 17,718 persons and total receipts were Rs 3.20 lakh. Citizens are making a beeline to get travel experience of Nagpur Metro that is under construction since last two and half years. On Orange Line Jaiprakash Nagar, Airport South, New Airport and Khapri stations are commissioned at present while on Aqua Line Jhansi Rani, Institute of Engineers, Subhash Road, Vasudev Nagar and Lokmanya Nagar stations have started functioning.
On this line metro service is available every 15 minutes while on Aqua Line services are running every half an hour for which commuters have to pay Rs 20 only for travel from Lokmanya Nagar to Sitabuldi Interchange. The fare on Orange route is Rs 30.
