Many residents of the city will face water supply woes for two days as the Maharashtra State Electrical Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has proposed 24 hour shutdown from February 6, and most part of the city would not receive drinking water supply from the civic body.
As per information, water supply in Laxmi Nagar Zone, Dharampeth Zone, Hanuman Nagar Zone, Dhantoli Zone, Gandhibagh Zone, Mangalwari Zone, Satranjipura Zone & parts of Aasi Nagar zone would remain affected on February 6 and 7 as pumping of raw water from Navegaon Khairy station following an electrical shutdown.
During the period, treated water pumping from Pench-I, Pench-II, Pench-III & Pench-IV water treatment plants (WTP’s) would also be stopped. As per information, NMCOCW have planned to carry out some important works like shifting of 700mmdia.Valve on PenchI pumping main at Raj Bhavan campus, plugging leakage on Pench-I pumping main at Gorewada Road, shifting of 800 mm dia valve on OmNagar Branch feeder from Pench-IVWTP pumping main.
While water supply to following Zones would remain suspended during shutdown period from February 6 to Feb 7 till 10 am and low pressure supply on February 7 after commencement of pumping of water from Pench-I, Pench-II, Pench-III & Pench-IV WTPs.
The Zones to remain affected during shutdown
Laxminagar Zone, Dharampeth Zone, Hanuman Nagar Zone, Dhantoli Zone, Gandhibag Zone and Mangalwari Zone, along with command areas like Boriyapura Feeder Main CA, GHVahan Thikan CA and Boriyapura ESR CA in Satranjipura Zone, Nara ESR CA, Nari ESR CA, Jaripatka ESR CA in Ashinagar Zone.
