FIEO WR & VIA EXIM Forum jointly organised an Exporters Meet on Challenges & Opportunities in International Trade at VIA Auditorium, Nagpur.
Sharad Kumar Saraf, President, FIEO while addressing the participants shared his four decades of experience as an exporter from India. He said that FIEO likes to work closely with the district-level chamber of commerce and local trade development bodies to reach out to the grass-root level. FIEO and VIA have been complementing each other for boosting exports from the Vidarbha region.
He said that FEIO constantly endeavors to understand the issues and hindrances faced by exporters and take up their concerns with the respective regulatory body for speedy resolution all bottleneck faced by exporters.
He said that exporters should not be discouraged by challenging economic situations but instead, we should work hard to overcome the challenges and look for many opportunities that are opening up due to challenges. He assured that FIEO will proactively support all individual exporters to succeed in global markets.
He announced that FIEO is planning to open up a Chapter Office in Nagpur to ensure better delivery of FIEO Services to member exporters.
Khalid M Khan, Regional Chairman, FIEO Western Region said that the global situation is becoming extremely challenging as rising protectionism, tariff war and geo-political conflicts is leading to uncertainty in global trade. India’s exports have always followed the trend in global imports. Therefore, when global imports are declining, our exports are also taking a hit.
Dhananjay Sharma, Dy. Director, FIEO made a detailed presentation on role of FIEO in promoting exports for India and services offered to member exporters to augment their efforts in exporting from India. 
During the interactive session the participants interacted the FIEO officials and raised queries related such as MEIS, DBK, GST Refund, caution listing of exporters and agencies such as DGFT, Customs, GST, Banking, RBI, Ports, Shipping Liners, Insurance etc. will be discussed during the meeting.
Earlier, Prashant Mohota, Chairman of VIA Energy Forum welcomed the Sharad Kumar Saraf President – FIEO and Khalid M Khan, Regional Chairman, FIEO (WR) with floral bouquets and in his welcome address said presence of President FIEO at VIA for close interaction with members / exporters, which help them to resolve at appropriate level. He said those who want to export from this region having lots of opportunities in export like Textiles, Packaging Material, Steels, Agri Commodities, Food Processing, etc. Pratik Tapadia, Chairman – VIA EXIM Forum made an opening remark and briefed about holding this meet for boosting exports Vidarbha region and also proposed a formal vote of thanks.
Exporters and representatives from Bajaj Steel Industries, Ganraya Food Products, Haldirams, Sandeep Metalcrafts were prominently present in the meet.
