Installing and using lifts in India draws certain regulations that builders always ignore and did not pay much heed to it. And high-rise buildings have become a common feature in city and so have lifts. As per information, currently many elevators (lifts) installed in the high rise residential, commercial society, apartments and complexes are being operated without proper license. And the point to be noted that many of the residents do not know that license is needed for operating the lift.
As per the industries, power and labour department of state government, many lifts in city do not have proper license. When the team visited a society in Rajnagar area they did not find license after which many facts came to light. The department officials said that though many lifts are operational in city, it is very important to maintain the quality and safety of the lifts.
When a team visited building in Rajnagar it found that in the year 2013, a reputed company has then installed the lift there. After 7 years, when the 20 team visited the building for inspection the company which fitted the lift failed to produce any permission letter for the lift installtion. On the contrary, the builder claimed that prior to the lift fitting, he had paid necessary fees and documents to the company. After the inspection, the concerned company has recollected documents. Rules were ignored for many times for saving money without following any rule the lifts are fitted. In
the beginning the processwas offline, but from July 12017 it is made online. The applicants have to fill the form A and B and submit necessary documents. The applicants have to submit architect’s stability certificate, sanction plan
