Demanding separate Vidarbha, the members of Vidarbha State Movement Committee blocked the railway gate located in Manish Nagar today. Hundreds of people in support of separate Vidarbha gathered in front of the railway gate. Looking forward to the chaotic situation police force and RPF were deployed at the gate to stop the supporters and put a hold on the situation. The movement was led by Ram Navale, the chief convenor of the Vidarbha State Movement Committee. To control the situation the agitators involved in the movement were detained by the police.
The demand of Separate Vidarbha is to put an end to Vidarbha’s unemployment, prevent farmer suicides, increase irrigation system and for the overall development of Vidarbha, creation of a separate Vidarbha state is the only way out to all this problem. According to the committee, the decision of making a new state falls under the central government. At present, the Shiv Sena Mahavikas Aghadi government is putting all the efforts to stop this, although it cannot stop the BJP led Center government from forming a separate Vidarbha state. The agitators in today’s movement put forth some key demands like to cut half the electricity bills, no electricity bills should be taken from farmers, to provide job opportunities to unemployed people and many more.
