The man-animal conflict is increasing in Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) as the tiger killed another human being within 10 days TATR.This is the second case reported in the buffer zone area of the TATR.
As per information, a tiger killed one Rasika Magre (40) from village Petgaon under Shivni (buffer) range while she was working in a farm on Monday evening. Earlier, tiger had killed a farmer near Kolara village in adjacent Palasgaon range of TATR on February 14. As per the source, the victim woman was busy working in the farm when the tiger suddenly attacked and killed her. Villagers later discovered her body lying in the farm and informed the forest officials. A team of foresters led by RFO, Shivni (buffer)range, Tupe rushed to the spot on getting information.
There was however some tension following the incident and cops were summoned to the spot to deal with the situation. Initially, the villagers were not ready to allow shifting of the body and voiced the demand of immediate measures for their safety against the attack of wild animals. However, police and forest officials pacified the villagers and moved the body for post-mortem to Mul sub-district hospital. The incidents of man-animal conflict are on the rise in the district. This was the fifth human death in tiger attack in Chandrapur district this year.
