General Secretary of EMBEA Jaiwant Gurway has said that under instructions from CLS, Indian Bank Association on behalf of government has invited UFBU-led nine unions namely AIBEA-AIBOC NCBE-AIBOA-BEFI INBEF-INBOC-NOBW NOBO for negotiations of various demands of bankers on February 29.
This include ‘wage revision settlement with 20 per cent hike on pay slip components with adequate loading thereof, 5 days of banking per week, merger of special allowance with basic pay, scrapping of NPS, up-dation of pension, improvement in family pension, allocation to staff fund based on operating profits, exemption from income-tax on retrial benefits without ceiling, uniform definition of business hours, lunch hours, etc in branches, introduction of leave bank, defined working hours for officers and equal wage for equal work employees and business correspondents.
The protest demonstrations was organised by the aforesaid unions outside the regional office of State Bank of India to press for their demands on February 26. If the talks fail, the bankers will observe a three day strike from March 11 to March 13.And a candle light procession will be organised in March in all state capitals as a part of the agitation programme, he added.
