IRCTC’s Rail Neer bottling plant at Butibori has started. Railway passengers now can breathe easy, as they will not have to pay extra money for Rail Neer water bottles. Recently the rate of the packaged drinking water bottles in trains was increased due to the hike in demand and supply of the bottles. With the opening of the new water plant bottles are being supplied daily at Nagpur Railway Station.
As the temperature is increasing, the demand for water will also increase, therefore to curb the black marketing in this season railways have also decided to reduce the Rail Neer water bottle rates.
Earlier due to less demand of these water bottles, the passengers had to pay more for the water bottles. However, in 2013-14, under the tenure Railway minister Pawan Bansal the Rail Neer Plant under Nagpur division was directed to supply water at sufficient and reasonable cost to the passengers and curb black marketing of bottled water.
IRCTC’s Rail Neer bottling plant is located at Butibori. More than 14,000 bottles are being supplied daily from this plant. The plant which was constructed at the cost of 28 crores has the capacity to manufacture 72,000 litres of water daily.
