Sanskar Gaigore won the title Nagpur District Rapid Selection Chess Championship that was organised in association with Dhanwate National College at its indoor Sports Complex, Congress Nagar.
Sanskar and Jay Sawalakhe secured six points each but on the basis of tie-breaker, Gaigore was declared champion whereas Sawalakhe finished runners-up. Suahn Deshpande achieved third place whereas Kush Wairagade and Shaunak Badole secured fourth and fifth places respectively.
In the last round, Gaigore defeated Sawalakhe on top board. On second board Kush Wairagade recorded the victory over Shaunak Badole. The prizes were distributed at hands of International arbiter Swapnil Bansod.
The other dignitaries present were NDCA organising secretary Umesh Panbude, chief arbiter Pravin Pantawane and others. Top two players of this selection tournament will be representing Nagpur district upcoming State tournament.
