Nagpur Branch of WIRC of ICAI hosted Two Days Mega Conference on Finance Bill & Fiscal Laws at Hotel Centre Point, Ramdaspeth, Nagpur.
CA Kirit N. Kalyani, the newly elected Chairman of the Nagpur Branch, in his welcome address stated that the branch has planned this two days conference at very right juncture; Since the provisions of the Finance Bill are more or less known to professionals, queries have settled to a reasonable extent. However, there could be difficulties in interpretation & implementation etc. This program will enable participants to have an in-depth understanding of the amendments to have a leading edge in profession, he remarked.
CA Kirit N. Kalyani, welcomed eminent speakers and various other delegates present. Amongst the speakers were, very renowned, CA. Dr. Girish Ahuja from New Delhi, CA. Brijesh Verma from Agra, CA. Harish Motiwala from Mumbai and CA S. S. Gupta from Mumbai. The effective deliberations will prove that program a well planned package by the members in the committee, to fulfill the knowledge thirst of members in profession, Chairman remarked.
CA Kirit, took the opportunity on the occasion of very first program after taking charge on February 28, to share his immense honour to serve as Chairman of Nagpur Branch of ICAI, particularly in view of the inspiring and illustrious history of branch. He conveyed to feel honoured for having able leaders in the form of CA Atulkumar Gupta – Hon President at Centre and CA Lalit Bajaj – Hon. Chairman at WIRC, for the year 2020. Further, he conveyed his commitment and remarked that he is fully conscious of the responsibilities that are supposed to be taken care of and was hopeful that with the continuing blessings and well wishes of parents, family coupled with the support and cooperation from members, he shall be able to discharge the same, effectively.
CA Abhijit Kelkar, Regional Council Member in his brief remarks congratulated the branch managing committee for their first programme after assuming charge and conveyed the participants at large as to how efficiently the managing committee at Nagpur Branch had been organizing various academic and non academic programmes, for the benefit of members.
CA Dr. Girish Ahuja, New Delhi, who had already delivered more than 40 sessions on finance bill after its presentation on February 1, fondly recognized as Tax Guru,effectively played his role by sharing his knowledge on various changes proposed in the finance bill pertaining to Direct Tax proposals. CA. Ahuja deliberated extremely well by covering the proposed amendments in income tax, clause by clause & further sharing practical aspects, issues & challenges in implementing the proposed changes in the income tax law.
CA Brijesh Chandra Verma, Agra shared his knowledge on Indirect Tax Proposals, GST -recent amendments & recent issues in Input Tax Credit. He eloquently covered the practical problems faced by the trade and industry at large and further shared various measures to overcome the issues arising while claiming ITC. He clarified various doubts raised during the Q&A session, post his deliberation.
CA.Harish N. Motiwala, Mumbai the speaker for second day guided the members present with respect to the provisions concerning Income Tax on Real Estate Transactions, fixing of accountability of professionals for transactions, generally not supposed to be initiated or effected by the professionals & Vivaad se Vishwas scheme 2020, which aims to resolve long pending disputes with respect to the demands under direct tax provisions.
CA S.S.Gupta, Mumbai, the speaker very effectively deliberated and guided the members on issues pertaining to GST on Real Estate Transactions, matters and issues with respect to the e-way bill generation, non-compliance, etc. He responded to the queries concerned after his effective deliberation, on the subject concerned.
CA Makarand Joshi, CA Rajesh Loya and CA Rajeev Damani, effectively played their respective roles in delivering key note remarks and aptly chairing the respective sessions during the conference.
CASaket Bagdia – Vice Chairman, very effectively coordinated the inaugural session and CA. Jiten Saglani – Secretary proposed a formal vote of thanks.
