In an urge to make more money few liquor shops in Nagpur have been known to deliver bottles of beverages at doorstep. The excise department came across this practice and have cancelled the license of the associated stores.
Promod Sonone, Excise Superintendent, mentioned that strict actions have been taken against the shops who have been delivering liquor at doorstep.
According to sources this concept has been active for almost a year now. It is important to know that even while serving liquor at your house party one should obtain a license through the State Excise Department.
People who consume alcohol should be aware of the norms Maharashtra Excise Department, said Sonone. Back in 2018, Chandreshekar Bawankule, former Excise Minister also raise question on liquor delivery.
The state excise department has been continuously following the footsteps of all the accused liquor shops as we got complaints regarding the malpractices and violation of excise norms, added Sonone.
