Youth for Unity and Voluntary Action (YUVA) in association with Mahila Krantikari bachat Sehkari Path Sanstha and Sehar Vikas Manch, Nagpur has conducted a program for Women’s to mark International Women’s Day at Shanti Nagar, Nagpur.
The program was guided by Vimal Bulbule (Social Activist), Nitin Meshram (YUVA) and Anil Wasnik from Shehar Vikas Manch, Nagpur.
Vimal Bulbule shared the history of Women’s Day. International Women’s Day is a product of the Labor movement of Europe. In 1906, women workers in the US started a movement in New York City for an 8-hour work day followed by Feminist movement and other movements claiming the rights for the women’s.
Nitin Meshram expressed his views and said World Women’s day is the day to celebrate the struggle for Women’s right in the economic, social, political and cultural domain and to celebrate the Women’s achievement all over the world.
Wasnik said, “The woman descended on the roads for better pay and voting rights. The Socialist Party of America first celebrated Women’s Day.
Prabha Aherrao, Anjali Ambulkar, Ahilya Nagdeve, Vimal Yasne also expressed their views in this program. The program was preceded by Urmilla Budge and Sunita Dahkate has proposed the vote of thanks. In the program, Malati Bhute, Ranjana Variwale, Shakun Ramteke, Sahanzebegum, Suman Somkuvar, Nisha Shaikh, Kalpana Barapatre, Leela Ghubde and others were present.
