International Women’s Day was celebrated at the Auditorium, Metro Bhavan with great enthusiasm. The female staff of Maha Metro participated in the event. Dr Brijesh Dixit, MD, Maha Metro chaired the event and appreciated the efforts put in by the women staff of the organization.
Addressing the gathering Dr Dixit said, today, women have leaped ahead and she manages her job and household responsibilities with equal finesse. This needs to be acknowledged, he further said in his speech. Dr Dixit greeted female staff of Maha Metro on the occasion. Mahesh Kumar, Director (Project), Sunil Mathur, Director (Rolling Stock and System) and S Sivamathan, Director (Finance) were prominently present.
Another even related to International Women’s Day was celebrated at New Airport Metro Station. About 80 women from different age groups participated in the event. The unique aspect of this event was the fact that all the participating women had sported traditional headgear (Feta). The women travelled from Sitabuldi Interchange to New Airport Station.
The women belonged to a local `Swayam Prabha’ voluntary organization. The women sang group song, highlighting importance of the day. The group also presented poem, skit on the occasion. The members of Swayam Prabha also felicitated loco pilot, train attendant, station controller, security guard and other female staff associated with Maha Metro.
