Determination and hard work are the real keys to success, said Ms. Sheela Jog, Hon. Director General, C & A G, Regional Training Institute, Nagpur, while speaking as a Chief Guest at a unique function organized by Nagpur Branch of ICAI on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Due initiative was taken to recognize the efforts of all women faculties and career counselors, who serve with holistic approach for educating the future of country, as regards course curriculum and the journey to become a Chartered Accountant. Chief Guest, Ms. Sheela Jog, shared her words of wisdom on the occasion. She shared that, The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) is an important constitutional functionary. Further, the constitution is founded on principles of high public morality and also on the principle of transparency and accountability to Parliament.
Now, The CAG is accountable to the Constitution and to the special statute under which the various functions are delineated, she remarked. Compliance Audit, Financial Audit and Performance Audit, form various tools to assess the operational efficiency of Government machinery, she remarked. Audit and certification by Chartered Accountants, form the crucial key to guide the regulating authorities, to take decisions affecting the financial transactions. A Chartered Accountant conducts audits of enterprises in regard to reports and tax compliance to the Government, therefore they play the role in contributing to tax revenues and national development, she remarked. She also duly recognized the services of Chartered Accountant members in the matter of providing prescribed training to the concerned authorities of various state and central government departments.
CA Kirit N. Kalyani, Chairman, Nagpur Branch of ICAI, welcomed the Chief Guest on the occasion, being Ms. Sheela Jog, Hon. DG, Regional Training Institute, Nagpur. He shared his memories of inviting the apt authority and went further to add that quote -  ‘Humility keeps you focused on the things that matter’, aptly fits the personality of Chief Guest on the occasion. Her gentle and humble approach to grace the occasion and share words of wisdom including the guidance in the matter of , really is going to travel long, in the beautiful lives of women members and students, present on the occasion, Chairman CA Kirit added.
Chairman remarked that “Women members form a very reasonable strength at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.’ This proves the real prospects in profession and strength of prefix CA for lady members, who are doing great on all fronts including social, political, cultural and professional, as well, he added. He took opportunity to welcome women faculties of Nagpur Branch, invited guests and girl CA Students. He sincerely thanked them for their dedication for serving branch and shaping the future of CA Students. Women’s role is indispensible, he said. He congratulated the students present for being fortunate to have such nice faculties for lending due guidance in their respective careers. He wished them good luck in academic and professional lives and all success in profession.
CA Abhijit Kelkar, Regional Council Member, appraised the participants that almost, 50 % of the exiting Chartered Accountants are lady members. This shows that more and more female members are willing to pursue this course. ICAI also established Women Empowerment Committee, so as to give specific attention towards empowerment of lady members. He wished all luck to the efforts of Nagpur Branch, in the matter of serving the members and students fraternity.
On the occasion, students of WICASA Nagpur Sub Committee, performed to celebrate the occasion. Pride in the matter of having birth in form of respected women member of society was duly conveyed through performances of Miss Kritika Iyer, Miss Akanksha Shinde and Miss Anusha Iyer. Other WICASA Sub Committee Kajal Shahu, Anmol Chandak, Samyak Modi, Mukul Soni.
The program got colors of effective participation, when CA Anita Pande, CA Gouri Deshpande and CA Swaroopa Vazalwar, shared their feelings on the occasion.
