The outbreak of coronavirus has created panic across the world. Despite the grave situation, passengers who reach Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport by domestic flights are not screened for coronavirus.Hence a passenger from abroad, takes a connecting flight to Nagpur they enter the city without screening for coronavirus and there is danger of possible infection.
A similar case was discovered. A Coronavirus infected passengers alighted at Mumbai from America and then came to Nagpur. This has alerted the administration. Two direct flights from Doha and Sharjah air connected to Nagpur. However there are many passengers, who alight at other airports in the country and then fly to Nagpur. It is surprising that such persons are considered to be domestic passengers and are not checked.
As per information, the airport administration received an order from the central ministry on the night of March five and Mihan India Ltd promptly started a helpdesk at the airport. The desk has two doctors, two paramedics, nurse .They conduct thermal scanning of the passengers. The suspected passenger is detected and sent for checking to the government hospital. Every pre caution is maintained at the airport. After mid night, when passengers alight from Doha and Sharjah they are all checked by doctors with advanced technology. Foreign travellers are thermally scanned and then allowed outside the airport.
The central health ministry on Wednesday decided to cancel foreign visas from March 13 till April 15. Hence only Indian passengers will be entering India from abroad. A team of doctors to check passengers is stationed at the airport since the morning of March six. All pas sengers are screened by thermal scanners and sus pected cases are sent to the government hospital.
