Taking extra care in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, the nuisance detection squad (NDS) of the Nagpur Corporation has launched strict action against those found spitting on open places including 37 NMC employees.
In the last 13 days, the squads have taken action 137 people found spitting on an open place and took action against 29 person found urinating on the open place and have recovered fine of Rs 38,900.
The action has been taken against those found spreading dirt, spitting, urinating and illegal parking premises. NMC Commissioner Tukaram Munde has ordered action against the employees in all zone office.
The law Considering the increased dirt in public places, last year the state government empowered the self-governing bodies to collect 200 fine for spitting or urinating, 200 for throwing garbage and 500 for defecating on an open place.
