In a slew of steps to curb coronavirus pandemic, the government has announced that no international commercial flights will be allowed to land in India from March 22 for a week.
The government also advised citizens above 65 to stay at home unless they are public representatives or doctors or government employees. Children below 10 to stay at home.
Railways and airlines have been asked to suspend all concessional travel except for students, patients and persons with disabilities.
States have been asked to enforce work from home for the private sector, except for emergency and essential services.
The death toll due to coronavirus in India has risen to 4 after a 72-year-old man who had tested positive for the disease passed away at a hospital in Punjab’s Nawanshahr district. The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in India rises to 173.
