Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has ordered shops, offices, international airports to remain close till March 31 in Mumbai, Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and Nagpur. Although all the essential and daily need shops, public transport will remain open.
“Government offices will operate at 25 per cent attendance, he said. Only essential services will operate and the District Collectors will specify from time to time about any other important services to operate†CM added.
Maharashtra is the worst-hit state in the wake of the novel Covid-19 pandemic with the state so far reporting 52 cases with at least five patients recovering from the virus.
He requested all the citizens to not step out of the houses until necessary.
The CM also said the state government is receiving good response from the public and the administration is taking all steps to tackle the situation.
