After receiving the complaint from the GMCH officials, Sandip Joshi reprimanded the civic authority for curtailing in supply of drinking water to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Mayor said  that when doctors and health workers at GMCH and Indira Gandhi Medical College and Mayo Hospital (IGGMCH) are engaged in battle against COVID-19, one need to strengthen the water supply and not to cut it.
The daily requirement of water at both the hospitals has seen massive increase as everyone involved in treatment of coronavirus treatment and overseeing other patients need to wash their hands thoroughly. Since the two establishments have huge arrears of water bill, the civic administration might have decided to regulate water supply creating problems for hospital management.
