There was a panic situation in Anant Nagar in Gittikhadan area, and Pachpaoli when the Nagpur Municipal Corporation shifted some coronavirus suspects to their localities on Friday night. As per the information, some of the suspects are from Tablighi Jamaat and released from quarantine facility.As many as 31 COVID-19 suspects were brought and kept in a prominent builder’s two flats that were lying vacant.
As per reports, these suspects were brought from quarantine centres at Vanamati and MLA Hostel. The residents are not aware about the decision of the NMC.As the news about shifting of coronavirus suspects spread like a wildfire in Gittikhadan area, residents from Anant Nagar and nearby localities panicked. One official said that that these suspects were tested COVID-19 negative and had already been quarantined for 14 days, he has no idea as to why they were again quarantined in the flat scheme, he added.
Similarly, people and social workers also opposed shifting of some more suspects from Satranjipura to the locality in the newly constructed Pachpaoli Police Quarters. Earlier, these were being shifted to Wanadongri. Following opposition from local leaders, the suspects were shifted from Wanadongri to Pachpaoli Police Quarters. However, following a strong opposition, the administration ordered to shift the suspects from Pachpaoli to Symbiosis facility in Wathoda/ Bhandewadi area.
