Adding another session of lockdown, the third extension of lockdown was said to open fewer facilities, workplaces, and transportation in many areas rather called zones. But at the same time, it was also mentioned that the red zones and containment zones will be strictly kept under a similar situation as before.
Maharashtra being a state with many positive cases of COVID-19 and Nagpur being considered a red zone, according to Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) orders Only essential goods shops will be open, Wine shops and other condiments are not allowed to be active.
In a circular provided by NMC, it is clearly mentioned that “Government offices and private offices are not allowed to open even with 30 percent staff. Construction work has been approved but contractors will have to make arrangements for laborers to reside on the same plot, at the same time they will have to follow the given guidelines, maintain social distance, wear masks and be aware of all the healthy living guidelines. Industries are also not allowed to open within the city.â€
50 people are allowed to attend the wedding ceremony and Only 20 people allowed for the funeral. Drinking alcohol in public places, the prohibition of tobacco consumption, and a continued ban on spitting in public places has also been implemented.
The lockdown in Nagpur will be effective till 17 May. All these orders are given out by Municipal Commissioner, Tukaram Mundhe in an attempt to stop the spread of coronavirus.
It is further directed that all earlier orders and all the concerned directions of the Government issued from time to time shall be aligned with the guidelines regarding permissible activities as per the aid order as referred to which shall be at par with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Malegaon Municipal Corporation (MMC). Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) with this order and shall remain to continue in force in the Nagpur City limits, up to and inclusive of 17 May 2020.
