The outbreak of novel coronavirus has indeed embarked a new chapter in our life the life of uncertainty.And to ease the problems of citizens during the lockdown, the first ever community market has started at Laxmi Nagar ground near Aath Rasta Square on Friday has got an overwhelming response on the very first day.
The community market has taken care of all rules and regulations during lockdown period. Considering the security of residents, the community market will remain open for three days in a week on alternate days. The community market has been started by Deendayal Thali and Rotary Club of Nagpur Downtown in association with Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).
Only six retailers were allowed to set up shops at the ground. In order to observe social distancing, the civic administration marked squares on the ground. Chairs were also made available for senior citizens, who had to wait for their turns. The facility of sanitisation was provided at the entrance with handwash machine. About 600 citizens took advantage of the community market on Friday and purchased vegetables by following all rules. The market will remain open on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6 am to 8.30 am. People should wear masks while visiting the marketplace.
