“Till now, 95,527 COVID19 patients have recovered. The recovery rate is now 48.07% and the fatality rate in our country is 2.82%, one of the lowest in the world†informed Lav Agrawal, Joint Secretary, Health Ministry during a joint briefing of The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Ministry of Health on COVID-19 on Tuesday.
India is far from the Covid-19 peak, informed Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) expert Dr. Nivedita Gupta. We have 681 laboratories that are approved for conducting #COVID19 tests- 476 in the Government sector and 205 in the private sector, as of 1st June 2020. Today, we are conducting 1 lakh 20 thousand tests every day she added.
The testing of Covid-19 has been ramped up in the country. “Today, we are conducting 1 lakh 20 thousand tests every day,†Gupta said.

“We have asked all states to analyse the trajectory of the cases in their respective states. If a state thinks that it needs to set up temporary COVID19 care centers then it must do so†Agrawal informed.
The total case of COVID-19 touched 198,706 on Tuesday in the country. While 95,526 people have recovered or have been discharged from hospitals, and 5,598 have lost their lives.
