The South East Central Railway (SECR) held a meeting with representatives of industry to promote the new initiatives, Cargo Facilitation Unit (CFU).
General Manager of South East Central Railway Gautam Banerjee addressed the traders “the customers are very important to Railways and their suggestions are also welcome as they can be studied and measures are taken to streamline the goods traffic. These efforts by SECR will not only encourage the loading of goods but will also benefit the people of the country through industryâ€.
Representatives of all industries and factories also explained in detail about various other possibilities of loading of goods from their organisations.
At the meeting, railway officials sought suggestions from representatives of industries and factories on the improvement of functions of the CFU.
The meeting was held through video conferencing in which issues related to increasing the freight loading over SECR which has created CFU for exploring and generating new and additional traffic and efficient increase in loading were also discussed.
The focus was on tapping new commodities for the transport of goods to increase the revenue earning of railways. Officials of the newly-formed CFU, divisional railway managers of the three railway divisions namely Bilaspur, Raipur and Nagpur were also present on this occasion.
Principal chief commercial manager, principal chief operations manager, chief freight traffic manager, deputy chief operations manager (Goods), deputy chief commercial manager( Freight), senior divisional commercial manager, area manager, and representatives of trade and industry in Raipur, Bilaspur and Nagpur were connected through video-conferencing.
