Siddhant Gawai remained  unbeaten and won online blitz chess tournament in his first attempt on Sunday.
On his way to the title, Siddhant surprised seeded players including Arena Grand Master (AGM) R Siva Subramanian, Prerak Darvekar, Sumedh Ramteke and Arush Chitare. He also defeated Sadanand Mahajan, Abhishek Ikhar, Aditya Bodkhe and Harsh Nachankar.
The tournament was organised by Nagpur District Chess Association (NDCA) on the server of lichess.org.
As per the final standings available on the server, Siddhant was followed on the podium by consistent performer Sumedh Ramteke at 7.5 points and Arush Chitare with 6.5 points. All players were given a time control of five minutes each to finish the game.
