Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), MLAs on Tuesday approached the office of Nagpur Commissioner, Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay to file a complaint against Nagpur Municipal Corporation Chief Tukaram Munde in an alleged rupees 20 cr Smart City scam, these actions were taken in support of Mayor Sandip Joshi. The matter is currently being handled by Economic Office Wing of Nagpur Police and DCP Shweta Khedekar is leading the probe.
This group of MLAs had Krushna Khopde, Samer Meghe, Dr. Vikas Mahatme, Mohan Mate, Pravin Datke and others lodged a complaint to CP Upadhyay the same matter which Mayor previously had alleged that Munde, the CEO of ‘Smart City Project’ has misused his powers and willingly doctored paperwork to favor private institutions for rupees 20 crore project.
Mayor Joshi had previously also said that “Those who appointed Mundhe, are now facing the adverse effects” while also targeting the State Government saying that, “If BJP would have been in power, Mundhe would never be appointed in the city”
