A letter was issued by the Municipal Commissioner, Tukaram Mundhe on allegations which were recently made on him regarding Smart City.
The letter reads, “I joined as Municipal Commissioner on 28th January 2020. Ramnath Sonawane was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Smart City. He tendered his resignation on February 11, 2020 to Pravin Singh Pardeshi Chairman. The Chairman of Nagpur Smart City instructed me on mobile to take charge of the CEO of Smart City Nagpur. Accordingly and as per the government decision, I am holding the post till today. As the CEO of Smart City, I carry out my day-to-day work. During this period, the tender of Transfer Station was canceled and the tender of Bio Mining was announced. And during both, the cancellation and the issuing of another letter the matter was discussed with the chairman.”
He further informed,” The tender of Bio Mining has not been finalized yet. Both these matters are being taken up in the proposed meeting of the Board of Directors. At the same time, some employees have been retired after reviewing the company’s Annual Performance Appraisal. All the above matters are being placed in the proposed meeting of the Board of Directors. During this period only one Running Bill has been issued without payment of office expenses and salary. There has been no irregularity while working as CEO about this. The board meeting could not be held due to Corona’s circumstances. This meeting is proposed.
