The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has sought more time from the court to reconfirm the condition of COVID-19 in the areas which has been allotted as the center for the upcoming CA exam 2020.
The Institute has said the Court that they need time to contact all the exam centers to access the feasibility of holding exams at all amid rising virus cases. SC has granted time to the Institute to sort out all the details on the conduct of the upcoming examination.
As we all know that the COVID-19 cases are rising in the country and all the major exams in the country are either canceled or postponed until the situation is under control and permissible to conduct the exams.
The Court has also said that ICAI must open the change of center open for all till the end. The Supreme Court will hear the matter next week.
ICAI has extended the ICAI -CA November exam registration date for foundation course till August 31, 2020. The institute has informed that those candidates who appeared in one or more papers in the months of February and March in senior secondary exams can also provisionally register for the course.
In the previous hearing, ICAI had asked SC sometime in order to frame new draft guidelines and rules for the exam. The Court was informed then that the ICAI had made all provisions for safety and hygiene at all the exam centers and efforts would be made to accommodate students at different exam centers.
